By day four, I had quite a lot of swelling, as you can see. Luckily it only lasted two days, during which time I relaxed in my hotel room.

It's important to keep the implanted area moist, so I sprayed water on a regular basis and kept a layer of antiseptic ointment applied to the donor area at the back of my head.
